Kaltoplast develops, manufactures and markets its own products, mainly in the fields of dental medicine and closing devices. Kaltoplast is the world leader in the manufacture of flexible saliva ejectors. This product is technically interesting, in that it consists of two components, an extruded plastic tube and an injection-moulded nozzle, that are assembled on several production lines, where speed, capacity and precision are essential. The flexible saliva ejector, marketed under the Scanflex trade mark, is distributed to dental clinics all over the world. The DLM cap is an injection-moulded closure that is mainly used for sealing glass or plastic bottles containing liquid medicaments. Very high demands are placed on this product, technically, economically and hygienically. Since the closures will be used on a separate production line somewhere else for closing glass or plastic bottles, they have to be made to exceedingly close tolerances. This product requires a very high degree of rationalisation in order to meet the required output while retaining profitability. The DLM cap is one of the products that is manufactured in a clean room environment, which is only to be expected since its next step is to be used in direct contact with one form or another of liquid medicament.
